Managing Attorney – Social Security Disability Practice

Julie Lang is a distinguished attorney with over 25 years of experience in Social Security Disability and Estate Planning Law. A Maryland native, Julie earned a double degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, obtaining a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Government & Politics in 1992. She went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1999, launching a career dedicated to advocating for individuals navigating the complexities of Social Security Disability claims.

From 1999 to 2014, Julie worked with some of the largest Social Security firms in Baltimore, gaining extensive experience in disability law. She later expanded her legal practice to Colorado, earning her Colorado Bar license in 2019, and then her Texas Bar license in 2021. While in Boulder, Colorado she played a key role at a boutique law firm, where she established its Social Security Disability practice and focused on Estate Planning, including Special Needs Trusts and Complex Trust Planning.

Julie returned to the East Coast to be closer to her children and grandchildren and has joined James E. Crawford, Jr. & Associates, LLC as the leader of the firm’s Social Security Disability (SSD) Practice. In this role, she is building and managing the firm’s national SSD practice, ensuring that clients across the United States receive compassionate and skilled legal representation in Social Security Disability claims.

Beyond her legal work, Julie is committed to community service, serving as President of the Cotopaxi High School Board, President of the BOCES Board of Colorado—advocating for the special needs community—and Vice President of the nonprofit Gus Belt Family Foundation, where she helped implement a job skills program for special needs students.
