New Lawyer Journey with JC Law
JC Law hires clerks and attorneys at all stages of their careers. This new path forward is a model designed to give attorneys (or soon-to-be attorneys close to taking the bar) a destination so they will be completely aware of their set path. The difference with JC Law is that we will automatically promote an attorney on a 1-year basis if they fulfill the basic metrics that make our clients, the firm, and themselves successful! That includes job promotions, salary, perks, and benefits!
We understand that the pathway out of law school or even in the field of practicing law can be bumpy and unknown. Most firms will promote only upon recommendation or major success. In other firms it is then up to senior managers and others to make a decision on your advancement, which can be challenging!
JC Law has changed that! The idea is that if you are successful in your practice, you fulfill basic metrics, you will then automatically be promoted to the next level! This gives transparency and a great ladder to lawyers who have the desire and talent to succeed in their careers and be an asset to the legal profession! It also gives a lawyer the ability to determine exactly where they will be in each stage of their profession so they can make personal financial decisions in their lives.
Success Ladder
Admin Lawyer (Temporary Clerk to Lawyer) - $90,000 (85k First 3 Months)
New Hire In Law School (clerking until bar results – then lawyer ) (1-12 months at JC Law)
- Hired before graduation generally
- Clerk for the firm while awaiting bar results with clerk hourly wages
- Full medical, dental, and vision healthcare plans including an HSA option
- 100% employer-paid healthcare premiums for individual employees (Blue Cross/Blue Shield)
- 401K retirement plan with automatic 1.5% equity share
- 2 weeks PTO and 1-week sick time, with the ability to roll over unused PTO from year to year
- 16 hours of personal time, 40 hours for bereavement, 2 hours for voting
- Flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week after 6 months of employment
- Other perks include gym membership reimbursement, stocked fridges, company events, and more
- Hourly remuneration while clerking
- Clerk until graduation or studying for bar — up to 7 weeks off studying for bar
- After the bar, begin practicing as a new admin lawyer
- First 3 months
- Placed in a team environment where supervisors and other lawyers will counsel and teach
- Low billing requirements, more administrative work
- Training through attending court with other lawyers, class study, and instruction
- Moot Court experience
- 3-6 months
- Continue as admin lawyer
- Continued admin support
- Begin handling legal matters
- More attending court with other lawyers, continued education and training
- Begin to transform into more of a practicing lawyer
- Training through attending court with other lawyers, class study, and instruction
- Moot Court experience
- 6-12 months
- Begin fully operating as an attorney under supervision

Junior Lawyer Going Into 2nd Year (After 12 Months) - $120,000 + Bonus
12-24 months at JC Law (experience outside JC Law may vary — 1, 2, or 3 years depending on relevant experience)
Complete 12 months and hit all metrics then automatically move to junior lawyer
- Must be a licensed lawyer in the proper jurisdiction
- Full medical, dental, and vision healthcare plans including an HSA option
- 100% employer-paid healthcare premiums for individual employees (Blue Cross/Blue Shield)
- 401K retirement plan with automatic 1.5% equity share
- 2 weeks PTO and 1-week sick time, with the ability to roll over unused PTO from year to year

Mid-Associate Lawyer Going Into 3rd Year Practicing (After Finishing 2nd Year) - $145,000 + Bonus
- Successfully hit 24 months & meet all metrics to move up to mid lawyer in 25-36 months
- Practicing lawyer with 2-5 years experience outside JC Law or 24 months at JC Law
- Full medical, dental, and vision healthcare plans including an HSA option
- 100% employer-paid healthcare premiums for individual employees (Blue Cross/Blue Shield)
- 401K retirement plan with automatic 1.5% equity share
- 2 weeks PTO and 1-week sick time, with the ability to roll over unused PTO from year to year

Senior Lawyer Going Into 4th Year - $175,000 + Bonus (End of 3rd Year)
Must complete 3 years at JC Law or equivalent relevant experience outside JC Law

- 401K retirement plan with automatic 1.5% equity share

Lawyers Over 5 Years Practicing - Starting Salary - $200,000 to 225,000 + Bonus
