JC Law is a full-service law firm that primarily practices family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. Established in 1992 and headquartered just outside Baltimore, Maryland, the firm has substantially grown in both size and capability into its current leadership position as the largest family law practice in Maryland, with additional offices throughout the mid-Atlantic region
We are currently hiring for a number of positions across our Baltimore, MD, King of Prussia, PA and Northern Virginia markets. These roles include:
Associate Attorney – Domestic/Civil Litigation – MD, PA, & VA
Linthicum Heights, MD (7 miles from Baltimore)
King of Prussia, PA
Fairfax, VA
Your role:
We are seeking to add an Associate Attorney to our rapidly expanding practice. You will be directly involved in all aspects of the practice of family law supporting our clients in areas including, but not limited to, divorce proceedings, adoptions, prenuptial agreements, visitation rights, protective orders, and custody filings. This includes working alongside and learning from our senior attorneys and support staff as well as partaking in a rigorous learning and development program to shape your skills and acumen.
Your responsibilities:
- Billing at least 34.6 hours per week (approximately 1800 hours/annually)
- Winning new clients via our intake sales funnel for at least 5 hours per week
- Managing your client collection rate ensuring it remains above 75% every week
- Working with the in-house financial team to forecast client billings weekly
- Providing representation of clients in court and through legal proceedings
- Mentoring and developing assigned Jr. Associates and legal support team
- Participating in JC Law’s Perfect Client Lifecycle development program
- Managing a regular schedule of hearings and court appearances
- Advising JC Law staff on legal matters and interpretation of laws and statutes
Your background:
We believe results count for more than years of experience. If you prove to be capable of delivering value for your clients and the firm, there is no restriction on how high or how fast you can rise.
- Licensed to practice law in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia (a plus if you are barred in other states we have offices)
- Experience litigating domestic and civil cases preferred
- Strong interpersonal & communication ability with the ability to influence and persuade
- Superior work ethic with a desire to succeed and build a life-long career in the legal profession
- Organized – able to effectively manage time and multi-task competing priorities
- Knowledgeable in family law areas including childcare, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, ancillary relief, and financial settlements, and willing to continue growing your knowledge base
- Adept at legal writing including custody agreements, wills, divorces, annulments, pre-nuptial agreements, child custody/support, and visitation rights, ready and willing to grow in each area

- The base salary range for this role is $80,000-$120,000 annually (commensurate with ability)

Client Account Specialist

Your responsibilities:

Your qualifications:
At JC Law, we measure character along with credentials. But for you to contribute immediately to this role; your experience should include:
- Proven experience in Account Receivable Management or a related field, preferably in the legal industry
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective engagement with attorneys, clients, and management
- Strong customer service capabilities, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and professional phone conduct
- Comprehensive understanding of core accounting and finance procedures
- Familiarity with diverse collection techniques
- Proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and billing platforms
- Demonstrated organizational excellence, adept at prioritization and multitasking
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, ensuring clear and concise interactions

Legal Assistant – Domestic/Family/Civil Litigation – MD, PA, & VA
Your role:
We are seeking to add a Legal Assistant to our rapidly expanding practice. You will be directly involved in supporting a team of attorneys ranging from junior associates up to and including our Vice Presidents. This role is a critical component of the legal team that supports our clients face-to-face. It is expected that you will bring to the team a sterling level of client service, steadfast reliability and professional decorum. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a long professional career in the legal services as you will receive continual learning and development in the role throughout your time with the firm.
Your responsibilities:
- Billing at least 23 hours per week (approximately 1200 hrs/annually)
- Assisting attorneys by drafting & reviewing legal documents and prep for court appearances
- Assisting attorneys with client interactions to include case updates and billing management
- Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
- Participating in JC Law’s Perfect Client Lifecycle development program
- Managing a regular schedule of hearings and court appearances for both you and your attys
- Navigating the discovery process including drafting, responding, organizing & administering
- Regular communication with clients regarding updates to their case
Sales Intake Specialist (Full-Time)
Your role:
We are seeking to add an intake specialist to support and assist the sales process at JC Law. You will be a liaison between the general public who have inquired about our legal services and our legal team. Working as part of larger team of intake specialists, you will field phone calls and emails from potential new clients and direct them to an on-call attorney for consultation regarding their legal matter. This is a critical role on the sales team. You will be the first point of contact at the firm for future clients and are responsible for establishing a positive first impression and superior level of customer service.
Your responsibilities:
- Field approximately 50-100 calls or follow-up calls a day with prospective new clients
- Properly input all data into the customer relationship management system (HubSpot)
- Promptly respond to all incoming leads and direct them to on-call attorneys
- Promptly respond to all incoming emails and direct them to on-call attorneys
- Communicate effectively over telephone, email, text, and Microsoft Teams
- Engage with the new leads in a professional and empathetic manner
- Confirm scheduled appointments with all involved parties
- Update JC Law tracking reports
