Biography

I’m Leslie J. Knight, a dedicated attorney with over 30 years of experience in criminal defense, family law, and Christian mediation. Based in Leesburg, Virginia, my legal practice is grounded in compassion, advocacy, and integrity. My passion for justice and reconciliation reaches far beyond local courtrooms.

Throughout my career, I have served in diverse and demanding roles: Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, a Guardian ad Litem for children, and a private criminal defense attorney. This unique breadth of experience has given me a comprehensive understanding of our justice system. I’ve handled thousands of cases—felonies and misdemeanors, for both adults and juveniles—always with the belief that every person deserves to be heard, respected, and represented with excellence.

Outside the courtroom, I’m a Certified Christian Conciliator, working with Conflict to Peace to help families, churches, and individuals resolve disputes through faith-based mediation. I’m passionate about applying biblical principles to real-life conflict, helping people navigate emotionally charged situations with clarity, compassion, and a pursuit of lasting peace.

In recent years, I’ve also contributed to the growth and development of small law firms in the area, mentoring attorneys and helping build strong internal processes. I believe effective legal practice must remain centered on the client: delivering true advocacy, transparency at all levels of the representation, strong communication, and results that matter. I bring strategic thinking, organizational insight, and ethical leadership to every role I take on.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, I’m committed to serving a diverse community with cultural sensitivity and respect. Whether I’m standing in court or sitting across from clients in mediation, I listen deeply, advocate wisely, and act with conviction.

When I’m not practicing law, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and traveling to lower my golf handicap. I truly value the people I meet along the way and the lessons they bring into my life.
