Welcome to December — and the latest edition of [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″]’s Monthly Matters.
To keep you in the loop, here’s a few exceptional wins [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] attorneys are especially proud of from last month.
[nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] Domestic Department Matters
Congratulations to both Tim Sutton, Senior Litigator, and new associate attorney, Francis Lanasa, who won a total of three separate peace orders on behalf of their client, who was suffering harassment and stalking via social media.
Congratulations to one of our newest associate attorneys, Itta Englander, for winning a long-shot grandparent’s custody case in Dorchester County.
Maryland family courts tend to err toward keeping the child with their biological and legal parents as in the “child’s best interest.” It’s part of what makes grandparent’s rights cases so tricky to pull off legally, but our talented Itta did it for her grandparent clients.
Congratulations to Abigail Beichler, Associate Attorney, who won a large ruling on behalf of her divorce client. After listening to both parties’ arguments, a Maryland judge not only awarded attorney’s fees to her client, but also awarded “Pendente Lite” alimony.
(That is, our client will receive alimony payments from the opposing party for the duration of the divorce case until a final divorce degree is issued by the court.)
[nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] Criminal Department Matters
Congratulations to Mark Sobel, Criminal Department Manager & Senior Litigator, for two especially clever legal arguments on behalf of two separate criminal defense clients this month.
- In one case, Mark’s client needed an expungement as quickly as possible. Mark argued that the way Maryland law had been implemented — not just what it actually said — meant that his client should get her record expunged now instead of waiting five years. The judge agreed!
- In another case, Mark’s client had a traffic violation that could have cost him a job with the government and his ability to provide for his family. Mark used the way federal and state law work together to make sure his client could keep his license — and his job!
Public Reviews of [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″]
Here are some of the reviews [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] is especially proud of that were submitted last month.
I want to thank Attorney Mark Sobel for his work on my case. We had the best outcome even though Mark was honest and told me we had a 50/50 chance. Luckily for me the outcome was positive. However, the outcome of my case does not change my sentiment about Mark’s handling of my case. Mark always responded to me and explained everything very well. He is a very intelligent and kind person to work with. The most important part is that he has a strategy to help you obtain the best outcome. In the past 20 years, he has been one of the best most knowledgeable attorneys I have retained for a case. I highly recommend Mark Sobel for any case you may have pending, as you will be in great hands. Thank you Mark Sobel!
Excellent office with wonderful lawyers, I would recommend this location to anyone!
Mark Sobel is a great lawyer to work with. He has been able to represent my son without him having to do any probation.
(Please note: Not all client “wins” will be shared out of privacy concerns, and details may be modified or obscured. We complete dozens of cases every month in a variety of matters from family and criminal to civil and beyond; this is just a sample of our accomplishments. Also remember that these results may not be possible in your own case, but the only way to know for sure is to ask us about it!)
